Ordering Prints

What solution should I use to obtain the best quality prints possible?
The higher the resolution, the better the quality of the image, so go for the highest quality images you can.

What resolution do you print at?
We print at 200 dpi.

What is resolution?
Resolution is a measure of the sharpness and clarity of an image. It indicates the number of picture elements or pixels that make up an image. The higher the resolution, the more pixels in total and therefore the bigger the disk space needed to store the file containing this image.

What is DPI?
DPI stands for dots per inch. A measure of resolution for printers, scanners and displays.

Do you remove red eye from images?
No. we do not offer such service at this time.

Do you accept RGB or CMYK images?
We only accept RGB images. We cannot process CMYK images.

What is "Fill In" and "Fit In"
I want to resize my photos but I don't know what 'Fill-in' and 'Fit-in' means.
On the 'Select Photo Size & Quantity' page, you will be given the option of 'Fill-in' and 'Fit-in' functions. This is because each print size has its own slightly different rectangular shape (known as the aspect ratio). When aspect ratio of the image and the paper size do not match, photo labs usually enlarge the image slightly and crop off what doesn't fit. Or the photo is resized so the image has a margin.

. FILL-IN (Default)

. FIT-IN

Selecting FIT-IN centers your photo and usually results in white borders on two sides of the print. We recommend FIT-IN only if it is essential to show the entire image (for example, if your photo is square or has been manipulated to be very wide or very tall). Please see example. Do bear in mind that photo resizing is dependent on file size, picture size and shape, so the end result may differ from picture to picture and from camera to camera.

Will my photos be cropped? If so, can I adjust the cropping?
Yes. That's why the program come with the cropping tools to ensure you crop the space you would like to be print in photo. Just double click the cropping button to adjust your cropping space into vertical or horizontal and vice verse.

What is cropping?
To cut out or trim unneeded portions of an image or a page is to crop.

Will my photos have the same colors as the ones on my PC monitor?
Since our Fujifilm Digital Minilab Frontier Machine and your PC monitor reproduce colors using different methods, the results may vary and differ depending the type and brands of your monitor.

I discovered several more images on my hard disk. Can I add them to my order?
Once your order has been sent, it cannot be modified. Please send another order with the additional images.

Can I cancel an order that I sent by mistake a few hours/ days ago?
Please contact us to try to resolve the problem. It is not always possible to intercept the orders as they go through the printing process very quickly.

I wish to check the status of my order. How can I do so?
Please contact us with your order confirmation number and we will track the order for you.

Are there any other ways apart from uploading via internet to send you my images?
You can also order prints by sending us a CD, DVD, memory card or a pen drive containing your images at GREECO VENTURE by using our offline photo printing software.

Is there a limit to the number of files I can send via your software?

Do you offer Glossy and/or Lustre finish prints?

Yes, we offer both Glossy and Lustre Finish Prints. Please note that this choice is only available for selected sizes.
. Glossy (Default) - Your photos will have a glossy finish
. Matte - This type of paper is similar to semi-gloss; smooth but not shiny
. Lustre - Has a coarse surface

Listed below are the pros and cons of both matte and gloss prints.

Paper Type Gloss Lustre
Pros
Have a shiny finish.
Colours are rich and deep.
Colours are also vibrant.
Prints are more appealing to the eye.
Glossy finish does not produce a textured look when scanned and converted to digital.
Fingerprints and smudges are not as visible.
Lees likely to attract dust.
Glare is significantly reduced, so they are easier to view in almost any light condition.
Cons
They are highly susceptible to fingerprints, smudges. To remove fingerprints and smudges, you need to use a photo cloth and/or a liquid solution. Rubbing a photo, no matter how soft the cloth is, can produce scratches.
Dust is easily attracted.
Prints produce a glare, making them difficult to see from certain angles. When viewed using intense light sources such as daylight sun or strong light bulbs, light reflected from the print can blind the viewer making it hard to see the photograph.
The texture of matte finish can make a photo look grainy (they do not have the fancy high quality look that gloss prints have).
Colours are usually less vibrant.
Colours are less rich.
The texture of a matte-finish print may produce a pattern or visible texture when the photo is scanned.

Now that you know the differences between the two finishes, you should be able to make a more educated decision. Remember that it is a matter of personal preference. Choose the finish that appeals to you and suits the photograph. Greeco wouldn't dream of forcing the choice on a customer. Greeco prefer to give you the option and let you decide.

What type of chemicals and printing machine does Greeco use to make prints?
Our photo labs use Fujifilm Digital Minilab Frontier machine together with the Frontier's CP-49HV II PCX2 to print out the photo. Like other Frontier models, the Frontier 340 employs proven Fujifilm technologies such as a solid-state laser exposure system and advanced image processing techniques to produce incomparable quality prints.

Main Features of the Frontier 340:
Digital exposure with Fujifilm's exclusive solid-state lasers and advanced image processing technology guarantees prints of superior quality, beyond the reach of analog machines.
Equipped with a new area CCD - a minilab adaptation of Fujifilm's proprietary Super CCD technology. An oversized chip of over 1 inch produces clear and sharp images that are noticeably free of noise.
Unique automatic dust and scratch removal function cleans up flawed negatives.
Self-mixing cartridge-type new replenishing system CP-49E eliminates the need for mixing work and the chance of mixing errors.
Super-high-quality prints from digital cameras and digital media.

How long will my photos last?
Greeco prints will last several decades before any noticeable fading occurs. Unlike ink-jet printing, our process is similar to how traditional film is processed, meaning your digital images are transferred to actual photographic paper and will last a very long time. The average lifespan of photographic paper is hard to estimate as it depends on various factors such as the intensity of the light the paper is exposed to and the humidity of the environment. Our print life should exceed 50 years in the right conditions.

What color profile is used to make my photos?
Our system assumes that all image files are based on the industry standard sRGB color space. The sRGB color space is the default color setting for most digital cameras and software. If your images are not in sRGB, we recommend saving them as sRGB before submitting them to Greeco Venture.

How do I know that the prints I order will be of good quality?
Greeco is dedicated to upholding high standards of quality and professionalism. Our browser upload system or our Photo Service software will warn you when uploading your images if they are not of high enough quality.
